HUNTLEY, IL — A fire alarm at the Huntley Public Library Wednesday morning turned out to be a broken sprinkler, fire officials told Patch.
Construction crews working on the soon-to-be updated library hit a sprinkler head, causing water to come from the emergency sprinklers and an alarm to be activated. By the time firefighters arrived at the scene, Battalion Chief Mike Pierce said, the crew had already cleaned up the water and was waiting for fire officials.
The large emergency personnel presence is standard for commercial fire alarms, according to Pierce.
