ALPENA — Students at Ella White Elementary School fought a mock blaze during their June Jubilee on Tuesday.
As part of the day’s outdoor activities celebrating Thursday’s end of the school year, students rotated through a station where they used a fire hose to knock down a wooden fire with the help of Alpena Fire Department Community Resource Officer Andy Marceau.
“You can’t let go of the hose,” a wet Marceau said, moments after corralling a wayward nozzle with his foot.
