Washington Fire Department reports - The Record Herald

The following fire reports were released by the Washington Fire Department (WFD):

Received station tone from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office reporting a smoke detector activation from the monitoring company. FD did not find any smoke or fire at the time of arrival and was notified by the occupant that there was no problem, that the detector was set off by burnt food on the stove.

FD was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident with injuries. Notified by Sheriff’s Office while arriving on scene that there was no entrapment. No smoke or fire was present. FD checked and secured vehicles. FD requested ODOT to respond and secure broken street light pole. FD assisted with removal of debris and fluids from the roadway.

FD received a call to assist the Fayette County Life Squad with lifting a patient. FD helped the Life Squad move the patient to the cot and to the squad.

FD received a call for mutual aid on an alarm activation from Station 300. FD was canceled en route from a member of Station 300 that was on scene.

Received station tone from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office to first respond for the Fayette County Life Squad.

Received station tone from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office requesting manpower for a lift assist.

Received call from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office reporting a controlled burn smoldering. FD did not find any smoke or fire at the time of arrival and was shown by the complainant where the fire had been burning. FD found a small compliant fire pit containing the remnants of dry-seasoned firewood. FD advised both parties of the burning law and regulations. Occupant offered to dump additional water in the pit.

Received station tone from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office reporting a two-vehicle accident, one patient complaining of neck pain. FD found both vehicles upright, on all four wheels, and pulled off to the side of the roadway at the time of arrival. FD did not note any smoke or fire and confirmed there was no entrapment. FD established a safe work area, controlled the flow of traffic, checked both vehicles for safety, and assisted with patient care and packaging.

Received station tone from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office reporting a fire alarm activation, zone D. FD was notified via radio at the time of arrival to cancel. FD made contact with the plant supervisor who stated the sprinkler head was struck causing the water flow alarm, and maintenance was in the process of shutting down the riser to isolate the water flow. The supervisor contacted a service technician to have repairs done and the system put back online.

Received station tone from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office requesting mutual aid, rescue, and manpower for a two-vehicle accident. While en route, FD was notified via radio that there was no entrapment and to cancel.
