Listed with Bring a Trailer, the low-mileage sports car was beautifully designed by Henrik Fisker who styled a BMW roadster for James Bond.

The long-standing partnership between BMW and Alpina has been so strong that Alpina eventually merged into the BMW group — making the bond even more concrete. Besides that, Alpina had the best sales year ever in 2021, providing another good reason for BMW to acquire Alpina recently, proving that Alpina is no ordinary aftermarket tuner but someone who has turned Bimmers into supercar fighting machines.

The Henrik Fisker-designed BMW Alpina Z8 Roadster is one such masterpiece that’s currently up for grabs on Bring A Trailer. This chassis #204 of just 555 examples boasts a single registered owner and has only 13,000 miles on the clock. It’s one of the best BMW-Alpina models that you can lay your hands on today, so bid up fast.

James Bond’s BMW Z8 Roadster came designed by Henrik Fisker and most took inspiration from the yesteryear’s BMW 507, produced from 1956 until 1959.

As BMW completed the production of the Z8 by the end of 2002, it replaced it with the Alpina Roadster V8 in 2003. Like its ancestors, the Alpina-tuned monster is also mostly hand-built and features aluminum body panels over an aluminum space frame.

This 2003 Alpina V8 Roadster, based on the BMW Z8, received an Alpina-tuned 4.8-liter BMW M62 V8 borrowed from the E39 B10 V8 S. It also carries other reinforcements like the double VANOS variable valve timing, individual throttle bodies, a double-row timing chain, and hollow camshafts. The renewed power plant now hammers out 375 horsepower and 396 lb-ft of torque. This immense power goes to the rear wheels via a five-speed BMW Switch-Tronic automatic transmission for a surreal driving experience.
